POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through personal development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The personal trainer role includes consulting with clients to develop training plans for them, instructing them on proper technique, motivating them to push themselves harder, and providing them with constant support and constructive feedback.

- Ability to instruct, lead, & modify exercise routines for a variety of fitness levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience participating in one-one training.
- A basic knowledge of health & fitness; with an emphasis in human anatomy and physiology.
- Experience in program design custom for clients goals.
- Must obtain a current personal training certification.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee must be able to perform a variety of physical movements including bending, stepping, cycling, pushing, pulling, stretching, and/ or holding specific positions based on the specific style of group exercise class they are assigned to teach.
- The employee must be able to lift weights ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 45 lbs. The employee must be able to set-up weight &/or aerobic equipment for their specific class they are assigned to teach.
