Personal Trainer

The Personal Trainer creates safe and effective exercise programs for clients, aimed at reducing the chance of injury and achieving client-specific goals. Daily functions include one on one wellness coaching, exercise prescription, movement assessment, documentation of exercise programs, and administrative tasks such as scheduling/billing. This position requires 6-12 months of experience as a personal trainer and a Bachelor's Degree in exercise science or a related health field is preferred. Relevant courses include: First Aid/CPR, biomechanics, exercise prescription, and nutrition. Must maintain current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA). This position requires strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to analyze movements and determine/correct faulty movement patterns. The Personal Trainer must be able to interpret body composition testing in order to make recommendations for improvements. Mental & Visual Fatigue: Work which produces very high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g. CRT work between 70 and 90 percent of the time, and work involving extremely close tolerances and considerable hand/eye coordination for sustained periods of time. Physical Effort: Job definitely requires above average strength and/or stamina to regularly lift weights up to 100 pounds and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment and other objects. Work may be performed in positions requiring considerable expenditure of effort in reaching, climbing, maintaining balance, or manipulating heavy objects. Life Support Certification Required: BLS
