POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides customized fitness programs that include education and guidance on the importance of proper cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and proper food intake. Monitors clients for appropriate fitness levels and exertion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Presents personal training program benefits to clients/members and demonstrates the value of an exercise program.
  • Evaluates clients' needs, assists, and encourages members to achieve fitness goals; designs client a personal training program and assists client with exercise program specifically designed to their goals. Makes adjustments to the exercises as needed.
  • Demonstrates safe exercises, which have been approved by the City of Glenwood Springs and the approved fitness certification agencies.
  • Enters all personal training appointments in master book.
  • Calls all potential and current clients to schedule and confirm appointments.
  • Complies with all safety policies.
  • Practices emergency procedures and attends ongoing education classes.

    • Work and communicate favorably, enthusiastically, and effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
    • Knowledge of recreation activities.
    EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS

    Necessary:
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Current Personal Training Certification from a Nationally Accredited Association.
    • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
    • Must have at least one-year experience in related field.
    • A background check will be required of the successful applicant.
    Desired:
    • Preferred Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in an area closely related to health and fitness.
    • Group Fitness Certification or group fitness related certification

    FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

    HOURS: Not to exceed 28 hours per week
