- $27.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
- Reports to Recreation Supervisor- Fitness
- Located at Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN)
- Hours vary, daytime and weekend availability preferred
Responsibilities The personal trainer leads individualized fitness sessions with clients at the Eden Prairie Community Center. This position may work with clients individually or in small group settings. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Create customized and appropriate fitness programs for clients based on their needs and goals.
- Explain and demonstrate exercises.
- Monitor the well-being and safety of all clients throughout sessions. Ensure that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercising.
- Ensure clients' needs are met through personal recognition and by providing quality service.
- Communicate effectively with clients during and in between sessions. Communicate effectively with supervisor and other team members.
- Assume a leadership role as a professional in the area of fitness and wellness.
- Encourage clients to continue with exercises and make healthy choices.
- Enforce all fitness facility policies, rules and regulations. Assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of fitness areas.
- Arrive well-prepared for each session with ample time to set up and greet clients.
While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.
Requirements- Personal Trainer certification (NASM, ACSM or equivalent) and First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required. Group fitness certification or format-specific certifications desired.
- Personal training experience with a variety of clientele required.
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City's evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work verification.

Notices discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information. Identifies a set of features, parameters or considerations to take into account in analyzing a situation or making a decision.
