If you have been a Personal Trainer for a few years now and consider yourself a great Coach/Trainer but have grown tired of the lifestyle that seems required in order to be successful:

Training 8+ sessions a day over a 12-14 hour workday

Started early and ending late

Struggling to make time for yourself to train or eat

Doing hours of programming and logistical work that you aren't being paid for

With no support from management, opportunities to learn, improve or grow

We welcome you to come learn more about Forge Performance.

Forge Performance was founded on the premise that there was a better way to offer the tailored personal training service that provided more than just a coach counting their reps. Instead, the service focuses truly on what clients need in order to be successful in making change in their life. This includes coaching through Mindset, Nutrition, Recovery and Exercise - not just one. "Coaching" is not just telling someone what to do but instead we are helping clients develop the skills and habits needed to become the person they want to be through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy means and Motivational Interviewing based Coaching.

We provide an all-inclusive service that includes individualized fitness coaching in our semi-private structure in the facility accompanied by Nutrition & Recovery habit-based coaching remotely through our app.

All this while providing the Coaches with a better lifestyle.

Every other industry offers employees an opportunity to grow in their career, be paid fair wages and receive the perks of paid time off and sick days - so why doesn't the fitness industry?

We don't know but we do know because of this year after year great coaches decide to leave the industry because they are peaking in their careers too early, facing burnout and don't see a solution to stay in the industry while also having a fulfilling personal life. This leaves us with an industry filled with beginners and amateurs because they don't have the opportunity to build real careers in the industry and have the time to constantly increase their skills. The job of coaching people to become better versions of themselves through health, fitness and mindset is highly valuable. It is also a tough job. By changing the industry standards, creating opportunities for coaches to have longer careers and develop their skills we can have a world where coaches are held in higher regard, able to demand higher costs for services and are respected for their impact.

For over 10 years we have expressed our mission and values in building an incredible community and team in West Windsor, NJ.

Now we are setting on a new endeavor with our second location in Newtown, PA scheduled to be open Spring 2025.

This posting is specifically for our new Newtown, PA location.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for individuals who believe what we believe and strive to improve this industry from the inside. We want coaches who are looking to build a career in the industry.

We are looking for someone who:

practices what they preach. This DOES NOT mean you need to be the strongest and leanest person in a gym. What it means is you believe living a healthy lifestyle is essential for being your best self. You make it a priority in your life to be active, to exercise and support your body with proper recovery and nutrition practices.

lives and breathes coaching. Your personal desire, satisfaction and career fulfillment comes from helping others navigate the challenges of making personal change. This is not a part-time side hustle - this is a career to you.

actively pursues knowledge in their specific field. Someone who believes it is their responsibility to continue to develop their skills so he/she can better serve the clients. Someone who wants to be more than "good enough".

is eager for constructive feedback rather than fears it. Growth occurs during the uncomfortable moments and they should be welcomed. Alternatively someone who is eager to help grow others by being willing and able to provide effective feedback to others so everyone wins.

looks for joy in their work. Laugh, smile and be your individual self. There is no rule that says you need to be boring to be a professional.

We are interested in applicants who have:

At minimum 1+ years of FULL TIME personal training experience

An NCCA approved Personal Training certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM etc) Required

Higher attention and compensation will be shown to those who have:

BS in Exercise Science or related field

FMS Certification Level 1 (or higher)

Precision Nutrition Level 1 (or higher)

EXOS Fitness Specialist Cert.

Certified Functional Strength Coach Cert. - Mike Boyle

Anything related to Motivational Interviewing

What we are NOT looking for:

Someone who wants to make a couple extra bucks part-time

Someone who is just curious about "trying it out" in fitness

We believe in providing the highest quality service and most enjoyable experience to our members. We also believe, and have demonstrated for years, that doing so can be a fun and enjoyable experience for the coaches.

If you love working with people to learn more about themselves and grow as individuals, then this is a place for you. Not only will you have an opportunity to execute on your passion, but you'll be also in an environment that will enable you to expand on your career as a health and fitness professional. We are constantly reinvesting in our employees, encouraging them to grow both within the company and in their own careers. We are a tight-knit team of professionals who love to aid people in their health and fitness goals, aid each other in further developing as professionals, and have a lot of fun while doing so.

What does it look like to be a Coach at Forge Performance?

All of our coaches are trained and certified fitness and nutrition coaches through the system we use at Forge. This provides Coaches the tools and skills needed to manage the clients assigned to them by the Head Coach upon them joining the facility. On a weekly basis the coach will fulfill their primary duties of:

20-25 hours of in-person Fitness Coaching leading our semi-private sessions

2 hours team meetings and individual meetings with the Head Coach

5 hours of remote check-ins with clients, providing feedback and supporting their journey through making change in their Nutrition and Lifestyle habits

Possibly additional one-on-one coaching sessions for additional income (most coaches perform 5-10 sessions weekly)

The compensation range stated in the posting is what a coach can expect to earn in their first year as an employee which is a combination of base salary, additional one-on-one income and bonuses based on performance.

The specific schedule will be determined by the current staff and needs of the clients (there is also sometimes some negotiation between coaches to make minor adjustments for preferences). However, we mostly work in either "Morning" or "Evening" Shifts. A typical coach's week will likely consist of 2-3 "Morning Shifts" and 2-3 "Evening Shifts" through the week and while all coaches do not work every Saturday, availability to coach Saturday's is a requirement for new coaches.

An example of workday for a coach on a "Morning" Shift:

6-10 am Coaching Semi-Private Sessions

10-11am Client Check ins through our online platform

11am-12pm Eat and Take a walk outside / Read / Move
