Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional legal representation for plaintiffs in complex litigation and personal injury cases.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, respond to discovery requests, and prepare demand letters and settlement agreements.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial, and implement effective trial strategies.
- Manage caseloads from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met and case strategies align with client goals.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, consultants, and expert witnesses to build strong cases.
- Maintain open and timely communication with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns throughout the litigation process.
- Stay informed on changes in laws, statutes, and precedents affecting complex litigation and personal injury matters.
- Handle complex legal issues independently and utilize informal resolution methods when appropriate.
- Participate in client meetings, events, and build lasting relationships with clients, team members, and external partners.
- Mentor and collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
- 2-3 years of experience practicing law.
- At least 1 year of litigation experience in California state and federal courts preferred.
- Experience with plaintiff-side tort litigation, including wrongful death, hazardous property conditions, and trip-and-fall cases preferred.
- Strong research, analytical, and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- High ethical standards and commitment to professional conduct.Professional certifications or affiliations preferred.
- Experience with arbitration and mediation is a plus.
