Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 15-17 cases with minimal supervision.
- All aspects of litigation, including defense strategy development, written discovery, drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, trial preparation, and trial.
- Work collaboratively with partners and other associates to develop appropriate legal strategies.
- Provide direction to supporting legal assistants, law clerks, and paralegals.
- Conduct depositions, especially involving healthcare professionals.
- Draft motions (including motions for summary judgment).
- Collaborate on mediations and prepare for trials.
- Handle 140 to 150 billable hours/month.
- Work Setup: in-office initially with Hybrid option after 3 months.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least 2 years of experience in general liability, with a specific focus on personal injury, is preferred but not necessary.
- Experience in preparing pleadings, conducting depositions, and motion practice.
- Efficiently analyze issues and communicate regularly with claims professionals.
- Must have experience working in a law firm environment.
- Competitive salary: $150,000-225,000 based on experience.
- Bonuses: Discretionary, typically reviewed every 6 months.
