The
pay range for a Permits CSR is $15 - $18 / hour (DOE)
What You Will Do: We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented, and bilingual Permits CSR to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you'll support commercial trucking clients by managing permits, assisting with compliance, and offering related insurance services. You'll play a critical part in maintaining strong client relationships while helping carriers stay on the road.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional customer service by building rapport and delivering accurate, timely support
- Accurately process daily permit applications and renewals for both U.S. and Mexican carriers
- Handle walk-in, phone, and email inquiries professionally and efficiently
- Process and reconcile daily cash, credit card, and check transactions
- Maintain detailed client records and documentation using multiple systems
- Prepare and submit filings such as:
- DOT, MC, and EIN Numbers
- Form 2290 (Heavy Vehicle Use Tax) Filings
- US DOT Decals, TX Diesel Reports
- IFTA Quarterly Tax Filings
- Permit Renewals and Reinstatements
- TX NAFTA License Plates and Oklahoma Registrations
- Fine Negotiations and Payments
- Notify clients when permits or plates are ready for pickup
- Scan, upload, and organize permit documentation
- Cross-sell permit services to insurance customers and vice versa
Required Qualifications:- 2-3 years of customer service experience
- Minimum 2 years cash handling with end-of-day closeout experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
- Must pass a background check and financial obligation review
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:- Typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS systems
- Ability to handle multi-line phones and multitask in a high-traffic environment
