Nurses that join the per diem pool, at minimum must be available for at least one shift every other week

Position Summary:
Richmond University Medical Center is currently seeking experienced Per Diem Registered Nurses to join our Float Pool, with a focus on the ICU Department. This dynamic opportunity allows for flexible scheduling and the chance to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple critical care units, depending on hospital needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in the ICU and other critical care units
  • Float between units within scope of demonstrated competency
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
  • Current New York State RN license (required at time of submission)
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications (required)
  • Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
  • Ability and willingness to float to other units based on hospital needs

Floating Expectations:

  • Nurses will float to units within their demonstrated scope of competency
  • Assignments are based on real-time staffing needs and skill matching

Dress Code Guidelines:

  • No specific scrub color is required; attire must be clean, professional, and well-fitted
  • Scrubs with outside hospital logos are not permitted
  • Closed-toe, non-slip footwear is required
  • Long hair must be secured
  • Avoid strong fragrances and limit jewelry for safety and professionalism

This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment while supporting various units based on patient care needs. Position Summary: Per diem Float Pool RNs provide bedside care across multiple MST units and are expected to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing practice. Assignments may vary daily, and candidates must be comfortable floating within their scope of competency. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting Current New York State RN license (required at time of submission) Current BLS and ACLS certifications Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills Floating Requirement: Agency and per diem nurses may be floated to other units within their demonstrated competencies, based on hospital staffing needs.
