Our Float Pool Model Our Float Pool team is a group of Medical Assistants who are specially trained and readily available to seamlessly assimilate and stabilize clinical operations within our practices. We cover gaps due to unexpected call outs, long-term leaves, planned vacations, staffing vacancies, etc. This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously to the top of your education/certification while also functioning as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate profile is an adaptable Medical Assistant who is confident in their clinical abilities and genuinely enjoys variety. Locations/Hours We are seeking per diem Medical Assistants to pick up shifts Monday through Friday, but we can be flexible on exact days based on employee availability. In this role, you would be expected to cover various practices across the Pioneer Valley. Towns/cities include: - Amherst - Belchertown - Florence - Greenfield - Hadley - Northampton - South Deerfield - West Hatfield - Williamsburg We do our best to keep all employees with their preferred geographic regions/specialty areas; however, float pool employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our locations during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes). How You Will Support Our Offices Our Medical Assistants partner with and work alongside a physician or advanced practice provider. Responsibilities include: - Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office - Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed) - Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone triage, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.) - Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas - Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs. Qualifications When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only the relevant skills and competencies, but also positive attitudes, emotional intelligence, and genuine passion for this work. - High school diploma or equivalent required - Completion of a formal medical assistant training program or active Massachusetts EMT-B licensure required. - Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA) - BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required prior to hire. - Internal Medicine/Primary Care Medical Assistant experience preferred.
