Coverage includes Level One newborn nurseries at two hospital locations in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, MI. On-call position with responsibilities including:oAttendance at high-risk deliveriesoNewborn stabilization and assessmentoDaily rounding and management of stable newbornsoSupervision of Advanced Practice ProvidersoEducation and oversight of residents and medical students Must maintain current CPR and NRP certifications.Qualifications: BE/BC in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics) Unrestricted or pending medical license in the State of Michigan Current DEA and DPS Certification of Registration At least two years of direct or internship experience preferred Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centered careFacility Overview: Pediatric services include support for multiple subspecialties: Hematology/Oncology, Gastroenterology, PICU, Surgery, Neurology, Urology, and more. Facilities include a Level III Perinatal Center, a 34-bed pediatric unit, a 45-bed NICU, and an 8-bed PICU with a 4-bed step-down unit. Integrated specialist and neonatology support available.Primary Responsibilities: Interview, examine, and treat patients Prescribe treatment and medication Order and interpret diagnostic tests Counsel patients on preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet Document services in patient medical records Make referrals and determine follow-up needs Collaborate with medical staff and leadership Participate in continuous improvement and education programs Supervise mid-level and nursing staff Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations Provide high-level customer service aligned with the organization s mission and valuesWorking Conditions: Variable shifts Full-time schedule (40 hours/week) Involves extended periods of computer work, walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs) Physical involvement in patient care activities
