We are seeking a licensed Pediatric Critical Care Physician Assistant for a 42-day locum tenens assignment at a Hospital in Texas. Starting 09/01/2025, this role requires expertise in managing critically ill pediatric patients in a ICU. The PA will work 13-hour shifts, with 10-14 shifts offered per month. Shifts are available from 7:00am-8:00pm or 7:00pm-8:00am. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, providing critical care coverage, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-level pediatric care, with potential for extension through the end of the year.

Responsibilities and Duties:


• Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations


• Provide critical care coverage in a 25+ bed PICU


• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill pediatric patients


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams


• Utilize Epic electronic health record system


• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records


• Implement and adjust treatment plans based on patient responses


• Perform necessary procedures within the scope of practice


• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals


• Participate in patient rounds and care conferences


• Stay updated on latest developments in pediatric critical care


• Adapt to the dynamic environment of a pediatric intensive care unit


• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and best practices in critical care
