Position Title: Middle School Girls Assistant Soccer Coach
Reports To: Head Coach and Athletic Director
Employment Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Level 6: Extracurricular Supplement Salary Scale

Job Summary:
The Pulaski County Middle School Girls Assistant Soccer Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in developing the skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship of student-athletes. The assistant coach will help create a positive and encouraging environment while fostering a love for soccer and promoting personal growth both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Player Development:
    • Assist in planning and conducting practices focused on skill development, strategy, and fitness.
    • Provide individual feedback and guidance to players to enhance their technical and tactical abilities.
    • Promote teamwork, discipline, and a growth mindset.
  2. Team Support:
    • Support the head coach in managing team activities, such as warm-ups, drills, scrimmages, and games.
    • Ensure players understand and follow game rules and strategies.
    • Encourage positive communication and sportsmanship among team members.
  3. Logistical Support:
    • Help with organizing equipment, uniforms, and other necessary materials for practices and games.
    • Assist in managing game schedules, transportation, and other administrative tasks as directed.
  4. Safety and Well-Being:
    • Supervise players during practices, games, and other team-related activities to ensure a safe environment.
    • Address any injuries or emergencies in alignment with school and athletic department policies.
  5. Communication:
    • Foster open communication with players, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and updates.
    • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating respect, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Prior coaching experience, particularly with middle school-aged players, preferred. Playing experience in soccer is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and techniques.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with middle school students.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Requirements:
    • Availability for after-school practices, weekend games, and occasional travel for away games.
    • Ability to pass background checks and meet school employment requirements.
    • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Working Conditions:
  • Practices and games typically occur outdoors in varying weather conditions.
