This leading investment management firm is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its Family Office Management group to perform activities necessary to process several payrolls for various client entities. This is a collaborative, fast-paced environment and we're searching for a strong payroll professional who thrives in a busy role.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform pay data entry, including time and attendance, employee maintenance and record keeping using payroll application ADP, Paychex, CBIZ and Insperity
  • Perform daily payroll department operations for various family office client entities
  • Work with PEOs as necessary to coordinate on behalf of clients
  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing to ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Understand proper taxation of employer provided benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Review time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Calculate gross-up calculations and manual checks
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Year-end reporting - verification of vendor reporting (W-2, W-2c, 1099, etc.)
  • Process WC/SDI Insurance Payments/Audits
  • Respond to client request quickly and accurately
  • Maintain client files in an electronic filings system

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency with payroll software - ADP, Paychex, CBIZ and Insperity a plus
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, federal and state tax principles, wage and hour laws for both corporate and household type entities in multi states strongly preferred
  • Ability to calculate payroll tax withholding
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Understanding of state workers compensation and disability laws
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, maintain strict confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
