Payroll Specialist
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage semi-monthly payroll for a large, multi-state entity (approximately 800 individuals) using Ceridian Dayforce. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Auditing and verifying employee time and labor data, resolving discrepancies with supervisors.
- Processing multi-state payroll for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees.
- Ensuring accurate calculation and processing of all taxes, benefits, and deductions, including garnishments.
- Assisting with payroll account balancing and resolving discrepancies.
- Responding to employee payroll inquiries.
- Managing garnishment processes and communication.
- Maintaining payroll system compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including setting up new tax accounts and managing filings.
- Managing payroll details and reporting for assigned divisions.
- Generating payroll reports and processing employment verifications.
- Researching and resolving payroll tax issues with government agencies.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of complex payroll processing experience.
- Experience with multi-state payroll, garnishments, and automated timesheets.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles.
- Experience with payroll HCM software - Ceridian/Dayforce or Workday preferred.
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills.
Salary: $60,000-68,000
Location: Tigard, OR - Great remote flexibility - must be open to occasionally coming into the office
