Payroll Specialist

A well-established organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its payroll team. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with regulations, and serving as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist Role:

Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations

The Payroll Specialist will audit payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary adjustments

Assist employees and managers with payroll-related questions and requests

Manage payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, wage garnishments, and benefit deductions

Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to support payroll operations and improvements

The Payroll Specialist will ensure compliance with payroll policies, laws, and internal controls

Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end processes including W-2s

Provide reporting and support for audits as needed
Qualifications for Payroll Specialist Role:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-state environment

Strong knowledge of payroll systems and federal/state wage and hour laws

Experience with PeopleSoft and ADP a plus
