Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Malvern, PA 19355 Hybrid (Onsite 2x/week)
Duration: 12 months
Pay Rate: $30-38/hr.
Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for over 18,000 employees across 30 U.S. and Canadian business units.
Qualifications:
- PeopleSoft payroll system experience.
- With Bachelor's Degree: 2-4 years of progressive experience in payroll and customer service.
- Without Degree: 5 years of progressive payroll and customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with multi-state payroll is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Process hourly and salaried payroll across weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly cycles.
- Support U.S. and Canadian payroll operations for multiple companies.
- Execute off-cycle payroll, reversals, voids, and stop payments as needed.
- Reconcile payroll data from various sources including time and attendance systems and manual inputs.
- Ensure payroll accuracy related to taxes, deductions, garnishments, union dues, and special payments.
- Serve as a payroll resource for HR Business Partners, Accounting, Benefits, and IT teams.
- Respond to complex inquiries and issues with appropriate solutions and follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian payroll laws and internal audit controls.
- Interpret personnel documentation to validate changes such as new hires, promotions, and terminations.
- Support year-end activities including merit increases, bonuses, taxable benefits, and deferred compensation.
- Participate in payroll system testing for upgrades, enhancements, and acquisitions.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation updates.
