Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Assist with processing weekly payroll for large employer
  • Assist with processing new hires, rehire paperwork for a company that has a very dynamic payroll given the nature of a staffing firm
  • Process and maintain insurance and 401K benefit enrollments and terminations
  • Prepare month end accounting journal entries and reconcile bank accounts
  • Assist with managing account payable and accounts receivable collections
  • Maintain proper HR documentation and employee-related files
  • Cross train with other positions in the accounting department
  • Prepare various monthly reports and maintain excel files as needed
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of previous payroll experience in a fast paced, growing organization preferred
  • Superior knowledge of payroll best practices with a desire for continuous improvement
  • Organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work
  • Strong data entry, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior technical/computer skills including Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in providing the highest levels of client service internally and externally
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with discretion

Job Specifics:

  • $55K - $60K, based on experience
  • Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Fully in-person, office environment work setting
