What you will be doing

Addison Group is looking for an experienced, highly technical Payroll & HRIS Specialist to manage our payroll processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness as well as manage the HRIS functions and reporting. You will be the go-to person for all payroll-related tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery for our high volume, fast-paced work environment as well as serving as the primary HRIS point of contact, performing HRIS responsibilities such as benchmarking, HRIS reporting and auditing for all departments. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining positive employee relations through efficient payroll operations. They will be a core member of the team who will collaborate with leadership to improve policies and processes while also being an inspiring partner and resource to the rest of the Company.


What you need to succeed (Skills)

  • Ownership of entire payroll processing, multi-state, (semi-monthly & weekly), including posting to the GL.
  • Serve as primary HRIS point of contact for all department reporting
  • Perform benchmarking and run HR KPIs out of ADP
  • Work within HRIS ADP - Time/Attendance modules to pull reports
  • Manage HRIS Analytics reports
  • Prepare and post assigned journal entries for payroll and month end closing.
  • Monthly account reconciliations for all payroll related accounts.
  • Prepare payroll reports as requested for budget and audits.
  • Drive improvements and efficiency by partnering with HR and other organizations to establish best-in-class processes for payroll and related programs.
  • Prepare documents for retirement processing for salary, union employees and pension with yearly audits
  • Month end payroll journal entries.

HRIS:

  • Work with HRIS software to ensure all aspects are fully functional and operational.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify HR technology needs and enhancements
  • Lead the implementation and integration of HRIS modules and updates
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for HRIS users
  • Streamline HR processes through the effective use of HR technology
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
  • Develop and generate regular reports for HR and leadership, providing insights into key HR metrics
  • Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and identify trends.
  • Trains staff on report generation and provides analytical support on ad hoc projects and requests
  • Ensure HRIS compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to maintain the security and confidentiality of HRIS data.
  • Drives the vendor relationship with all HR system vendors, manages project timeline, budget, risks and scope, maintains project documentation, produces status reports and communicates status to management.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all payroll processes comply with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Stay up to date on latest payroll trends, best practices, and new technologies in payroll systems.
  • Manage various annual audits of Workers' Compensation, Union Benefits and 401k.
  • Utilize related external systems to help create payroll cycle.
  • Import data containing other earnings and deductions.
  • Review and resolve any payroll exceptions prior to processing payroll.
  • Assist with documenting procedures and controls.
