Payroll Specialist


Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Up to $80,000 annually (based on experience)


Position Overview:

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for a hybrid role in Dallas, TX, on behalf of our client, a trusted leader in the identity theft protection industry. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll for up to 100 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance using ADP Workforce Now.

This individual will also support basic benefits-related functions, making this an ideal role for someone with payroll expertise and exposure to employee benefits processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for up to 100 employees
  • Manage and audit timecards, earnings, deductions, benefits contributions, and tax compliance
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now for end-to-end payroll processing and reporting
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
  • Support basic benefits-related tasks, including processing benefit deductions and assisting with enrollment audits
  • Assist with W-2s, tax filings, year-end reporting, and internal audits
  • Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee compensation data
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of payroll and employee information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is required
  • Experience processing payroll for 50-100 employees or more
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws
  • Some experience with benefits administration is preferred
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPP certification is a plus

Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid schedule: 1-2 days onsite in the Dallas office
  • Standard Monday-Friday business hours
