TPG Staffing is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist for our client, a successful central NJ company. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellent client service and able to perform all the activities necessary to process payrolls for a diverse array of client entities at various pay frequencies. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform pay data entry, including time and attendance, employee maintenance and record keeping using payroll applications, such as ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, and UKG
- Perform daily payroll department operations for various client entities
- Execute end-to-end payroll processing to ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Understand proper taxation
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
- Review time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
- Calculate gross-up calculations and manual checks
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
- Conduct WC/SDI Insurance Payments/Audits
- Respond to client requests quickly and accurately
- Maintain client files in an electronic filing system
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3 Plus years experience processing payroll
- Must be able to create detailed reports
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, maintain strict confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent Excel Skills
