Hiring: Payroll Specialist

A well-established multi-state company is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its corporate support team. This critical role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include processing bi-weekly payroll, including commissions, bonuses, and wage garnishments, while maintaining strict confidentiality. The Payroll Specialist will audit payroll data for accuracy and compliance, investigate and resolve payroll and benefit billing discrepancies, manage monthly benefit plan billing reconciliation and payments, and oversee bi-weekly funding for 401k and HSA accounts. Additionally, this role involves registering with state tax agencies, maintaining compliance with payroll tax regulations, and serving as a subject matter expert, collaborating with finance, HR, and external agencies.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment (restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll laws, including California.
- Experience with Paycor preferred; Optim8 is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive payroll data with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll-related software.
