About the Job:
Lakeside HR Group has been engaged to recruit a Payroll Specialist for our client in the construction industry located in Atlanta, GA. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling complex payroll systems, including multi-state payroll, various pay types (salary, hourly, commission-based), and payroll integration for newly acquired companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for employees across multiple states and business units.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salaries, hourly wages, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation types.
- Handle payroll integration for newly acquired companies, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees and management.
- Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and external stakeholders as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management in a multi-state and multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software, with experience in integrating payroll for acquired companies.
- Extensive experience with various pay types (salary, hourly, commission-based).
- Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
