Position: Payroll Specialist

Compensation: 80k-90k


About the Job:


Lakeside HR Group has been engaged to recruit a Payroll Specialist for our client in the construction industry located in Atlanta, GA. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling complex payroll systems, including multi-state payroll, various pay types (salary, hourly, commission-based), and payroll integration for newly acquired companies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for employees across multiple states and business units.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salaries, hourly wages, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation types.
  • Handle payroll integration for newly acquired companies, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date.
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees and management.
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management in a multi-state and multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software, with experience in integrating payroll for acquired companies.
  • Extensive experience with various pay types (salary, hourly, commission-based).
  • Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
