Payroll Manager
Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team in Tualatin. This role is responsible for the comprehensive management of all payroll functions and systems, ensuring accurate and efficient payroll delivery for the organization. This position requires maintaining robust internal controls and strict confidentiality of sensitive information, adhering to all applicable regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage a team of payroll specialists, providing feedback, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage all payroll processes, including deductions and tax calculations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings, including W-2s.
- Reconcile and process payments to third parties, including involuntary deductions.
- Ensure the payroll system operates effectively, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with IT on system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and their impact on payroll processes, preparing the team for adjustments.
- Prepare union reports, process deductions, and manage all related activities for multiple unions.
- Collaborate with Accounting and unions to establish or modify payroll codes to ensure compliance with laws and agreements.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive payroll data.
- Work with Human Resources to facilitate onboarding and payroll updates, including processing new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
- Perform other assigned tasks and special projects.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of progressive payroll experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- CPP is a plus
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Proven experience managing multi-state payroll, garnishments, and levies.
- Experience with payroll administration related to collective bargaining agreements, union pay types, and compliance rules.
- Exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide informed recommendations.
- Ability to optimize technology usage by improving processes and providing training.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to address issues and prevent negative impacts.
Location: Tualatin, OR- In office position
Salary: $95,000-115,000
