Payroll Manager
Job Summary:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and ensures the company payroll policies are in accordance with the government regulations. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding pay checks. May coordinate payroll with outside service provider. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity in Troy, MI.
Schedule 4 days in office and 1 day remote
Responsibilities
- Processing of timecards
- Processing of terminations
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues with management at various operating locations
- Create and/or run reports from payroll or time and attendance system
- Handles VOE's (verification of employment)
- Processing Weekly payroll via Paycom
- Assists team members with payroll questions and problems
- Updates and maintains personnel records on daily employee attendance, department transfers, address changes, job performance notices, and/or other employee-related issues in an accurate and timely manner
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Can run payroll by themselves
- Annual company audit
- Lead payroll department
- Bi-Weekly 1-1's
- Weekly PSO report
- Commission reporting
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, including internal and external payroll processing.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems, with experience in processing payroll for multiple entities or clients.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in payroll software and systems, with experience in implementing and optimizing payroll processes.
- Strong understanding of commission calculations and experience in managing commission-related processes.
- Ability to analyze complex payroll data and generate actionable insights to support decision-making.
Role Expectations:
- Ensure all data files are complete for transmission to Paycom
- Ensure the timely processing of payroll
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Meet KPI (Key Performance Indicator) metrics
- Ability to research, organize, analyze and summarize payroll data
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
- A minimum of two years payroll processing experience is required for this position
- Knowledge and experience with an automated payroll system - Paycom experience and automated time-keeping
- Reliability in checking own work to ensure accuracy
