Job Summary: The Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of each of the biweekly payrolls. This role will maintain payroll systems, ensure adherence to tax regulations, and collaborate with internal and external auditors. The Payroll Manager monitors and ensures the accuracy of the ADP database and answers all correspondence concerning payroll and its structure.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations, including timely filing of Forms 941, 940, W-2, and other required returnsMaintain payroll records and reports, ensuring data integrity and confidentialityConduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting for internal and external stakeholdersIdentify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline payroll processesProvide exceptional internal service to employees by addressing payroll inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and careSupport year-end processes, including issuing relevant tax documents (P60s, W-2s, 1095-Cs, etc.)Collaborate with the Finance team on payroll-related journal entries and reconciliationsPrepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for managementManage payroll-related benefits programs, including entry and maintenance of deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability coverage, and voluntary programsServe as the subject matter expert in payroll systems, optimizing workflows for efficiency and accuracy.Lead the development and improvement of payroll processing and inquiry management systems.Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance process consistency, compliance, and integrity.Remain up to date on changes in payroll laws and regulations and recommend necessary policy updates.Maintain confidentiality of employee information and protect payroll operations by keeping information secure.Perform additional duties as required to support business needs. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Five years of payroll processing experience, including at least one year of payroll process management. Solid understanding of payroll software. Experience with ADP systems preferred. Advanced knowledge of state/federal tax laws.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams). Experience with HRIS/HCM and payroll platforms. Strong knowledge of multi-state and local tax requirements. Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal. Exceptionally organized, strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines under pressure. High level of professionalism and confidentialityExceptional analytical skills with the ability to summarize findings.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.Travel to branch locations as required. Pass a drug screen and background check (including a credit check). Reliable transportation. Physical Requirements:Remain stationary at a desk, standing, and moving from place to place for prolonged periods. Occasionally move light objects. Observe details at close range. Take notes, operate technology, and present information. Read documents using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others. Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically. Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions so others will understand. Drive to work and other SafeTouch branches as required by business needs.
