Payroll Coordinator (CONTRACT)

You are an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You're confident handling payroll independently and understand the importance of accuracy and compliance-especially in a manufacturing setting. You're comfortable navigating timecards, garnishments, and workers' comp issues, and you aren't afraid to walk the floor, ask questions, or build relationships with shift supervisors.

This position pays: $27/hour

What you will be doing:

• Process weekly payroll for 165+ full-time employees and 50+ temporary production workers
• Review printed timecards for accuracy, confirm punches, and obtain supervisor signatures across all shifts (morning, afternoon, graveyard)
• Handle payroll-related functions including garnishments, workers' comp tracking, and onboarding of temporary staff
• Ensure compliance with GMP protocols while occasionally accessing the production floor
• Maintain payroll records and documentation for audits and reporting
• Collaborate with supervisors and production leads to resolve timecard discrepancies promptly

What you bring:

• 2+ years of payroll experience required - must be comfortable handling payroll independently
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred; open to training on other payroll systems
• Strong understanding of wage & hour compliance, garnishments, and workers' compensation
• Proficiency in Excel (filters, pivot tables, basic formulas)
• Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking production staff (Spanish fluency a plus)
• Friendly, detail-oriented, and proactive team player - not afraid to ask questions or take initiative
