As a Payroll Analyst, you'll be essential in ensuring accurate and timely payment processing while providing excellent service to internal stakeholders. You'll analyze payroll data, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to process improvements as the organization continues to grow. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving and working with financial systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO - Apply your knowledge of payroll calculations including earnings, FLSA rules, benefit and tax deductions, garnishments, etc. when reviewing payroll data during processing cycles
- Analyze employment data (terminations, new hires, job changes, location changes with tax implications, direct deposit changes, etc.) and their impact on compensation to recommend corrections or system improvements
- Assist with preparing and executing weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll runs through report preparation, reconciliations, schedules, and Excel functions like VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Escalate significant issues to the Senior Manager of Payroll Operations and participate in resolution processes
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of the company's compensation structure to ensure consistent payroll outputs
- Identify and recommend efficiency improvements to support the company's ongoing growth
- Handle escalated employee inquiries from the Payroll Specialist, ensuring team members receive service aligned with company values
- Work collaboratively with other payroll team members
- Demonstrate technological proficiency and responsive communication through email and chat platforms
WHAT YOU NEED - 3-5+ years of payroll experience
- Experience with multi-location/multi-state payroll processing and tax regulations
- Self-motivated approach with growth mindset and research capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to identify data inconsistencies
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Workday knowledge preferred but not required (training will be provided)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Effective communication skills with customer service orientation
- High standards of discretion and integrity when handling confidential
