Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Duration: 6 Months Contract + possible extension
Location: Kent, WA
Responsibilities:
- Back up all payroll processing functions needed to support planned and unplanned absences.
- Identify payroll issues and assist with proper adjustments as needed.
- Follow general policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with federal, state, local, and company rules and regulations.
- Reconcile payroll wage and tax reporting after each pay period to ensure accurate filing between Workday and ADP.
- Responsible for Q/E and Y/E processing, including the filing of W-2s, addressing any exceptions and errors prior to finalization.
- Oversee state and federally mandated reports to ensure compliance and timely reporting such as 941's, unemployment, LNI and Paid Family & Medical leave.
- Complete payroll reconciliations and audits in support of month-end, quarter-end, and year end activities.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and perform various month-end close tasks.
- Audit relocation expenses and recordation of W2 reportable transactions.
- Assist with the quarterly processing of employee grants and support employee questions about the plan.
- Interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with various federal, state, and local laws.
- Monitors changes and remain current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters, 401(k) other compliance areas.
- Document standard operating procedures in support of business objectives.
- Coordinate department documentation used for audits and desk procedures.
- Manage and assist with special projects, e.g., system enhancements, payroll upgrades and testing.
- Maintain employee confidence by keeping all HR and payroll information confidential.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of Payroll experience
- Workday experience
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel including pivot tables, vlookups)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a frequently changing work environment, staying flexible based on business needs and deadlines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- AA or BS degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- Payroll Certification (CPP)
- Experience using Workday and Costpoint
