Overview of the Payroll Accountant role:
• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage payroll tax filings, including preparation and submission of quarterly and year-end payroll tax reports.
• Maintain and update payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts, investigating discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to payroll expenses.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Accountant role:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in payroll processing and accounting, especially with large employee groups.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and software; knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
Salary: $55,000.00 to $70,000.00 depending on experience
