What We Are Looking For

Patient Service Rep Lead oversees the activities of the Patient Services Representatives to ensure prompt patient services; Provides general supervision and direction for Patient Registration staff in Outpatient Registration, patient flow, patient check-in, patient records availability, insurance verification, financial qualifications for discount programs, and resolve patient issues that may arise. Assists with the day-to-day operation of the Front Business Office.

Schedule: 5 days per week, 8hours per day, Monday - Friday Location: SBC Clinic, Women's Health Patient Access Department, San Bernardino, CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES
  • Patient Service Rep Lead assists in overseeing the activities of the Patient Services Representatives to ensure prompt and courteous patient services.
  • Assist in providing some supervision and direction for Patient Registration staff in Outpatient Registration; patient flow, patient check in, patient records availability, insurance verification, financial qualifications for discount programs, and assist in resolving patient issues that may arise. Check for authorization and/or referral.
  • Assists with the day to day operation of the Front Business Office. Assign proper guarantors. Ensure patients is assigned to correct PCP for continuity of care purposes
  • Assist the Manager with assessing the needs of the work team to determine the efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in analyzing appointment metrics and data to then produce feedback if needed.
  • Ability to assist with interviewing and hiring new candidates if needed, must be able to work with all departments with SACHS including HR.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity, work effectively and with individuals of different cultures and socioeconomic status; Passion for service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid CA Driver's License. As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of healthcare front office experience, some supervisory experience preferred, or 1 year as a current PSR and have proven leadership skills.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Telephone skills and computer competency required. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, students, and patients by phone, in writing and in person. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret procedures from various payer sources. Must possess basic writing skills.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
