As a patient service representative, you'd be the first person patients see when they arrive at Neighborhood, and you'd help set the tone for a positive patient visit.
About the Role:
As a patient service representative, you'll demonstrate kindness and use your customer service skills in patient interactions. You'll collaborate with other team members to help ensure a smooth flow for the day. Responsibilities include:
- Assist in open and closing procedures for organization
- Prints daily appointment schedules
- Assist with and independently print all front desk reports including recall, no-show and bumped reports in a timely manner
- Assist in ensuring appointments are confirmed
- Confirm appointment times, location and provider during check-in process
- Acknowledge patients in a timely manner and communicate delays to the front desk lead
- Verify patient information and correction in the computer system
- Revise patient documentations and forms during the check-in process
- Adhere to all appointment notes and expire if applicable
- Verify insurance through epaces, heathenet, healthplex
- Appropriately input all insurance information including active/expired dates
- Appropriately send patient messages
- Assist patients in filling out required forms
- Collect all co-payments including sliding fee scale nominal fee
- Adhere to cash handling policy

Education and Skills to be a PSR:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical office experience or medical terminology knowledge preferred but not required
- Allscripts PM and EHR knowledge preferred but not required
- Able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish is preferred.

- Ability to thrive in a high energy work environment and learn new software and computer systems.
Must be available to work any shift Monday-Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Compensation: Starting rate $18.50 per hour.
