Position Summary:
MedCadre is seeking a highly qualified Pathology Assistant to support operations in a high-volume anatomic pathology department. The ideal candidate will assist licensed pathologists with specimen processing, tissue examination, and autopsy procedures. This role is essential to maintaining compliance, laboratory safety, and optimal utilization of resources in support of excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process gross tissue sections for pathology analysis

• Assist with human postmortem examinations, including dissection and specimen collection

• Maintain laboratory inventory and disinfect equipment

• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot medical equipment

• Complete documentation and support autopsy reporting

• Photograph surgical specimens and maintain quality standards

• Accession, label, store, and dispose of specimens appropriately

• Maintain compliance with lab safety and infection prevention protocols

• Analyze data and compile reports

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

• Valid New York State license and current registration as a Pathologists' Assistant (NYSED)

• Experience in grossing specimens and performing autopsies
