A prestigious law firm is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in patent litigation, a strong academic background, and excellent litigation and writing skills. This role offers significant responsibility, client interaction, and the opportunity to work on high-profile patent infringement cases across various industries.

Location:

Duties:

  1. Assist with Federal Circuit appeals and PTAB proceedings
  2. Engage in tech transactions and patent-adjacent legal work, including antitrust and trade secret cases
  3. Participate in case strategizing, briefing, depositions, and trial preparation
  4. Provide legal counsel to clients in various technology sectors
  5. Maintain billable hours of at least 2,000 per year, including pro bono work

Requirements:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in patent litigation
  2. Strong understanding of U.S. patent laws
  3. Excellent writing and litigation skills
  4. Ability to handle significant responsibility and client interaction early in the role
  5. Willingness to travel as needed for client matters

Education:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school
  2. Strong academic credentials and high class ranking preferred
  3. A technical degree or relevant work experience is preferred

Certifications:

  1. Admission to the California Bar preferred but not initially required
  2. Patent Office registration is a plus but not mandatory
