Job Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Heavy-Duty Truck Parts Specialist to support our diesel mechanic shop by sourcing, stocking, and distributing parts for heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This role ensures technicians have the correct parts for efficient repair and maintenance operations, and may also handle external customer requests.
Key Responsibilities: - Process Orders
- Maintain Inventory Levels
Identify, source, and issue correct parts for heavy-duty truck repairs and maintenance.
Support diesel technicians by verifying parts compatibility and availability.
Order and receive stock from vendors and maintain accurate inventory records.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-labeled parts room or warehouse.
Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary to prevent shortages.
Assist walk-in or phone customers with parts inquiries and sales.
Maintain records of parts transactions, returns, and warranty parts.
Coordinate with the service writer and shop manager to track ongoing repair jobs and parts needs.
Handle core returns, warranty claims, and back orders with suppliers.
Stay updated on heavy-duty truck systems, part numbers, and vendor catalogs.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade training is a plus.
2+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts or diesel industry preferred.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, heavy-duty truck systems, and OEM/aftermarket parts.
Experience with inventory management software or parts lookup systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to parts handling.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Work Environment: Shop parts counter and warehouse setting.
Interaction with mechanics, vendors, and occasionally customers.
May require standing for extended periods and occasional outdoor work.
