Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Heavy-Duty Truck Parts Specialist to support our diesel mechanic shop by sourcing, stocking, and distributing parts for heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This role ensures technicians have the correct parts for efficient repair and maintenance operations, and may also handle external customer requests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Orders
  • Maintain Inventory Levels
  • Identify, source, and issue correct parts for heavy-duty truck repairs and maintenance.

  • Support diesel technicians by verifying parts compatibility and availability.

  • Order and receive stock from vendors and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-labeled parts room or warehouse.

  • Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary to prevent shortages.

  • Assist walk-in or phone customers with parts inquiries and sales.

  • Maintain records of parts transactions, returns, and warranty parts.

  • Coordinate with the service writer and shop manager to track ongoing repair jobs and parts needs.

  • Handle core returns, warranty claims, and back orders with suppliers.

  • Stay updated on heavy-duty truck systems, part numbers, and vendor catalogs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade training is a plus.

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts or diesel industry preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, heavy-duty truck systems, and OEM/aftermarket parts.

  • Experience with inventory management software or parts lookup systems.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to parts handling.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Work Environment:
  • Shop parts counter and warehouse setting.

  • Interaction with mechanics, vendors, and occasionally customers.

  • May require standing for extended periods and occasional outdoor work.
