Job Title: Part-Time System Administrator (Secret Cleared)
Location: Remote for first 9 months, then onsite
Duration: Full-time
Salary Range: $140-144,000 (Based on Experience) Summary:
Verigent's client is looking for a part-time (20 hours/week) System Administrator to join their growing team in support of a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As a key team member, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of Azure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions and assist in transitioning a prototype into a full-scale production environment. Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design, configuration, and deployment of secure Azure VDI solutions within a DoD cloud environment

• Support the development and maintenance of Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) and associated cloud-based infrastructure

• Implement system patches, updates, and upgrades in line with DoD security standards

• Collaborate with senior engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and program stakeholders to ensure successful system integration

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot VDI performance and availability across multiple environments

• Document system configurations, procedures, and architecture for continuity and compliance

• Apply best practices in system hardening, access control, and virtualization within cloud platforms

• Participate in testing and validation phases of VDI deployments and support continuous improvement initiatives

• Maintain technical documentation, including installation guides, SOPs, and diagrams Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• Five (5) years of general experience in cloud system administration roles or a related field

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance and the willingness to obtain a TS/SCI Eligibility

• Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification

• Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, OCI, or GCP.

• Familiarity with RMF process, DoD STIGs, and Information Assurance (IA) compliance

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/WVD), Active Directory, and Group Policy

• Familiarity with DoD security requirements, including DISA STIGs, RMF, and impact levels

• Proficiency in virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware)

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, cloud-focused environment
