Part-time Endocrinologist needed for Neighborhood Health Center - Houston, Tx

Join a Mission-Driven Team Improving Access to Specialty Care

Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a Board-Certified Endocrinologist to join our compassionate, community-focused team on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE). This unique opportunity allows you to deliver essential specialty care in a collaborative, integrated primary care setting serving diverse and underserved patient populations.

You will rotate between three of our safety-net clinic locations and offer telehealth services to improve access for patients with transportation or mobility barriers. A part-time Medical Assistant will be provided to support your clinic days, along with dedicated supplies and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide endocrinology consultations and ongoing management for patients referred by family medicine providers
  • Focus areas include Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, gestational diabetes, and other endocrine disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with referring PCPs
  • Adjust or initiate insulin and advanced therapeutic regimens
  • Provide follow-ups via in-person visits and teleconsultation
  • Participate in care team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning
  • Serve as a trainer and mentor for clinic staff and providers on endocrine best practices
Position Details:
  • 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) flexible scheduling across 3 clinic sites
  • Dedicated part-time Medical Assistant support
  • Includes telehealth component to enhance accessibility

  • Supported by a multidisciplinary care team committed to health equity
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Endocrinology
  • Active or eligible for Texas medical license
  • Experience working with underserved populations strongly preferred
  • Passion for team-based care and mentorship
  • Comfortable with rotating site-based care and telehealth
