Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor is a renowned law firm specializing in defense cases. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our team at our West Palm Beach office.
Are you an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal looking for an opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected law firm? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive paralegal with 2-5 years of insurance defense experience to support our litigation team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, from inception to trial.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, discovery requests, subpoenas, and pleadings.
- Organize and manage large volumes of documents, including medical records, deposition transcripts, and trial exhibits.
- Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Assist in trial preparation, including preparing trial binders, witness lists, and exhibit files.
- Conduct legal research and summarize depositions, expert reports, and medical records.
- Manage expert witnesses, including scheduling, document preparation, and communication.
- Handle electronic court filings (E-Filing) in both state and federal courts.
- Track billable time and ensure compliance with law firm billing practices.
- Work independently while effectively prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience as a paralegal in an insurance defense law firm.
- Strong knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and E-Filing procedures.
- Experience handling trial preparation and litigation support.
- Ability to summarize legal records and bills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and case management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
