We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal focused on Discovery to join our team. This role plays a critical part in supporting our clients in family law matters, managing the discovery process and providing case support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Discovery Paralegal, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the discovery process for a full caseload, including:

  • Drafting and reviewing interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, subpoenas, and other discovery-related tools and correspondence.
  • Organizing and maintaining discovery-related workflows, processes, and client materials, contributing to the firm's knowledge base.
  • Collaborating closely with attorneys and paralegals to coordinate litigation strategy and discovery needs.
  • Providing proactive suggestions throughout the litigation process, including trial preparation and ongoing discovery enhancements.
  • Ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures regarding scheduling and client communication.

What You Bring to the Team

  • At least four years of experience as a family law or civil litigation paralegal and a solid understanding of Washington State court rules and procedures, particularly in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties (experience in other counties is a plus).
  • Proficiency in e-filing and experience using legal technology, including ShareFile, Adobe, MS Office 365, Slack, Apple systems, and Clio-or the ability to learn systems you are unfamiliar with quickly.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail in drafting legal documents and client communications.
  • Interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to assist clients through challenging legal matters.
  • Litigation experience, with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.

  • The ability to meet billable hour requirements while maintaining high-quality work.
  • This role requires a minimum one-year commitment to the discovery department before transition to any other internal role.
