Job Title: Workers' Compensation Paralegal
Location: Rock Hill, SC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Workers' Compensation Paralegal to support attorneys in managing workers' compensation cases from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in the field and a strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
Training can be provided for more entry level associates with a background in the legal field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing workers' compensation claims and related legal documents
- Manage case files, maintain calendars, and track deadlines
- Conduct client intake and maintain regular communication with clients
- Request and organize medical records and employment documents
- Prepare discovery responses, subpoenas, and settlement documents
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and independent medical examinations (IMEs)
- Communicate with insurance companies, medical providers, and opposing counsel
- Ensure compliance with applicable court rules and filing deadlines
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in workers' compensation law
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation procedures and terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
