Overview:
A prominent mid-sized law firm with a well-established private client services practice is seeking an experienced Tax, Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join its New Jersey office. This role supports a team of attorneys handling complex estate and trust matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer trust and estate accounts, including checkbook management, expense disbursement, and bank reconciliation
- Prepare asset inventories, valuations, and estate accountings
- Assist with estate and inheritance tax filings (e.g., IRS Form 706, NJ IT-R)
- Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and third-party professionals
- Support trust accountings, distributions, and maintain accurate beneficiary records
- Draft basic legal documents and assist with probate filings and Surrogate's Court procedures
Requirements:
- 5+ years of trusts and estates paralegal experience
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
