Discretion handling confidential information is critical. 5 years of civil trial experience as a law firm paralegal is required, preferably with commercial litigation matters.

Position responsibilities include:
Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes
Prepare and file correspondence and legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorney
Investigate facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly
Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparation
Must have experience with handling courtroom technology
Ability to find solutions/figure out any technological difficulties on-site
Responsible for organizing and setting up technology day of/days it is needed
Responsible for being "on-call" for the attorneys during trial
Scheduling and setting up "war room" for attorneys as needed
Ability to research and find solutions while under pressure
Assist with discovery, including bates labeling and indexing documents
Proofread all work, including reading documents for content and context
Schedule and monitor a calendar of docket events and deadlines
E-filing with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies
E-filing and searches with the Secretary of State
Prepare PowerPoint presentations
Run technology in court, hearings, mediations, etc.
Open new clients and matters, and facilitate the conflicts process for new and existing clients
Perform other duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing and typing routine correspondence, assist with billing, client communication, and reading and routing incoming mail
Requirements for consideration:
5 years of litigation paralegal or related experience with a law firm
Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred.
Must understand litigation from start to finish
Strong attention to detail
Highly motivated and energized by deadlines
Exercise initiative for solutions when problems arise
Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize high-volume caseload and multitask
Punctuality and satisfactory attendance
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Timeslips, and E-file
Experience with TrialDirector is a plus
Experience with TrialPad is a plus
Experience with NetDocs is a plus
