Davis & Ceriani is seeking a Paralegal to join our team. We are a small law firm situated in downtown Denver. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently. At least two years' experience managing civil litigation cases is preferred with proficiency in computer programs typical of the legal profession. This is not a fully remote position.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings at the Federal and State levels, to include familiarity with and ability to research various court rules.
• Draft and revise correspondence.
• Analyze real estate contracts, review title work, and prepare closing documents.
• Maintain case-related deadlines and LawToolBox and Outlook calendars.
• Maintain attorney calendars.
• Act as liaison among all parties including court or other neutrals for scheduling and sharing information.
• Organize and manage documents, including spreadsheets and retrieval systems.
• Coordinate the collection, review, and production of documents and responses to discovery requests.
• Maintain document databases such as DISCO in document-heavy litigation.
• Assist with depositions and trial preparation, including assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and indexes/appendices.
• Coordinate service of process and subpoenas.
• Transcribe attorney dictation.
• Research case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside reference sources.
• Compile information and prepare statistics, charts, graphs, and other summaries.
• Set up conference calls and video conference meetings.
• Various other legal assistant duties to include (without limitation):
• Process pleadings and correspondence to include:
o Save copy to system;
o Calendar relevant response/reply deadlines;
o Prepare form of responsive pleading when appropriate;
o Service/copy to client and recipients.
• Answer calls and take messages.
• Enter attorney billable time into Tabs3.
Skills:
• Experience researching rules of civil procedure and calendaring deadlines based on court rules.
• At least two years' experience managing civil litigation cases, including high document volume databases, preparing pleading templates and filing pleadings, assisting with deposition and trial preparation, including managing exhibits, profiling and sending pleadings to clients and opposing counsel, serving litigation documents (experience in corporate litigation a plus).
• Experience with real estate closings.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
• Initiative and good communication skills.
• Proficient in use of computer programs typical of the legal profession.
• Ability to edit and proofread documents with attention to detail.
• High attention to detail and pride in work product.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and share task lists within the department.

Pay and Benefits:
• $35 - $40 hourly range
