Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of recent experience in family law matters and possess a strong understanding of the legal processes surrounding divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, probate, and estate planning. Experience in probate and estate planning is a plus, though not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations
  • Draft and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and declarations
  • Prepare and maintain client files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date
  • Manage case calendars and deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts
  • Conduct legal research as needed
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys as required
  • Attend court hearings and client meetings when necessary
  • Help prepare financial documents for divorce, child support, and spousal support cases

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of recent paralegal experience, with a focus on family law
  • Strong understanding of family law procedures, court rules, and legal terminology
  • Experience with probate and estate planning is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A paralegal certificate from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
