Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of recent experience in family law matters and possess a strong understanding of the legal processes surrounding divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, probate, and estate planning. Experience in probate and estate planning is a plus, though not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations
- Draft and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and declarations
- Prepare and maintain client files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date
- Manage case calendars and deadlines
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as required
- Attend court hearings and client meetings when necessary
- Help prepare financial documents for divorce, child support, and spousal support cases
Requirements:
- 4-8 years of recent paralegal experience, with a focus on family law
- Strong understanding of family law procedures, court rules, and legal terminology
- Experience with probate and estate planning is a plus
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A paralegal certificate from an accredited institution is preferred
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
