SUMMARY:
The Paralegal will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents in the firm's filing system, including:
- Draft routine legal documents
- E-filing in state and federal court
- Updating case files and document management / production
- Facilitate the meeting of attorney's deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Conduct case-related research
- Assist with trial preparation and presentation
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal
- Related commercial construction and litigation experience
- Experienced in billing & billing software (bill4me is a plus, but not required)
- Experienced in filing + drafting
- Must feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups (attorneys, staff, court personnel and opposing counsel) and coordinating and calendaring important case-related events.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, commercial construction contracts, and litigation procedures.
- Knowledge of billing best practices in a legal environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other legal software tools.
