Paralegal - Matrimonial and Family Law
Well established and progressive western Suffolk County law firm seeking experienced matrimonial/family law paralegal for immediate hire. Our team is committed to providing compassionate support, personalized guidance and high-quality legal representation in Matrimonial and Family litigation and mediation.
Experience/Certification/License Required:
Paralegal Certificate from accredited New York school
2-5 years of relevant paralegal experience in matrimonial and family law
Notary Public License
Position Summary:
Our firm is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Paralegal with 2-5 years of experience in matrimonial and family law. The ideal candidate will be confident, organized, and capable of handling multiple matters while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Support & Document Management
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence and court documents (e.g., summons, complaints, subpoenas)
- Perform e-filing through court databases and manage filings with appropriate jurisdictions
- Use Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word proficiently for document formatting and editing
- Print, scan, collate, and copy documents of various sizes with accuracy
- Maintain and organize case files and document management systems
Technology & Administrative Tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Familiar with Adobe Acrobat and PDF editing tools
- Competent with legal software (MyCase preferred), court database/e-filing platforms (NYSCEF, ecourts, etc.)
Client, Court, and Office Communications
- Communicate with clients, court staff, and other law offices professionally and confidently
- Handle client intake and follow-up as needed
- Provide support to attorneys with scheduling and follow-ups

Compensation:
$45,000-$54,000 depending on experience
