Our client, a leading investment management firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary Paralegal to support its investment operations team. This role will involve managing the document lifecycle for investment transactions, assisting with trade documentation, and providing support for various investment activities. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in transactional legal work, preferably in finance, and possess strong organizational and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
Responsibilities will include assisting with documentation preparation, maintaining records, coordinating updates, and supporting client reporting and audit requests. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of closing documentation for private investment trade and exchange activity
- Assist in the management and maintenance of physical note documentation including reregistration, bond powers, note splits and delivery instructions
- Assist with project to instruct issuers and paying agents to update payment instructions
- Support client reporting and audit requests
- Assist with researching and resolving outstanding cash/position breaks
- Assist with "ad hoc" and special client/business driven projects
Requirements:
- 5+ years of prior experience supporting transactional legal work, preferably with an emphasis on private placement transactions, structured finance, bankruptcy, restructurings, and/or commercial lending activities
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in document lifecycle management
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and appropriate decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and to prioritize effectively under time constraints
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of private credit instruments and related documentation is a plus
