Position Summary The ideal Palmetto Cafe Assistant Manager candidate will assist in a first line management capacity, administering policies, procedures, functions and activities of the, to include but not limited to people and culture, payroll functions, full responsibility for dining room operation in absence of the restaurant manager. Will also include cross marketing of restaurant with other hotel departments, sales, and service of group dining as well as dining room maintenance and service staff training.
Role Responsibilities - Supervise, train, and monitor colleagues
- Prepare daily schedules
- Ensure that consistent quality and consistent quality standards are being achieved.
- Review colleagues' timecards
- Calculate servers' gratuities
- Perform monthly inventories of all food and capital goods, ensure that stock is rotated properly.
- Discipline and council staff as needed
- Attend to and anticipate guests' needs.
- Overseeing reservations
- Writing and completing reports regarding colleague and guest activities.
- Overseeing handing of cash and credit card transactions.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, services, outlets, and hours of operations
- Achieve objectives through direction and delegation
- Observe standards for the department in image, appearance, and grooming; properly represent the company and the professional to outside organizations and the company.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and general hotel information.

Qualifications - Effective communication skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
- High-energy and passion.
- Previous recruiting experience.
- Hospitality experience plus.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years for food and beverage experience required
- Minimum two years progressive management.
