Great opportunity to work as Packing Line Leader for our client, at their cheese production warehouse, near Chard, Somerset.

The rate of pay is £14.30 per hour.

This is a strictly full-time position only, offering fixed shifts based on weekly rotation (Monday - Friday). The hours of work are:
06:00-14:00
06:30-14:30
07:00-15:00

Note, that in December for 3 weeks shits will be either 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00.

Candidates must have their own transport, due to the working hours and the site location

Your Time at Work
As a Packing Line Leader, your responsibilities will include:

Health and Safety :
- Demonstrate a commitment to their own health and safety and that of others in keeping with the
Company Health and Safety Statement, policies, and instructions.
- Responsible for checking work areas, equipment and machinery to ensure there is no potential risk
to human or food safety, and for reporting non-conformances when identified
- Ensure department cleaning and hygiene levels are maintained to the required standards through effective
completion of cleaning schedules and processes, including the safe use and storage of chemicals.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies, food safety policies, procedures, and risk
assessment control documents

Technical and Quality:
- Demonstrate a commitment and pro-active approach to Environment, Health and Safety and Food
Safety and Hygiene
- Ensure tasks are carried out within the allocated work area in accordance with the Food Safety &
Quality Management Systems (FSQMS)
- Ensure all return-to-work paperwork is completed and handed to the appropriate manager
- Maintain accurate records to meet customer and Company requirements.
- Monitor relevant Critical Control Points (CCPs)
- Assist and support with preparations required for audits and visits
- Assess all cheese batches ensuring all cheese is cleared for use, product is of the highest quality,
packing meets the appropriate quality standards, and customer specifications are maintained.
- Maintain full traceability of product through the packing process, including use of the EFACS system

Operations :
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement
- Takes ownership of personal and professional development
- Undertakes, and delegates, a range of routine tasks associated with the packing of cheese products,
as part of a team, in accordance with all applicable work instructions, procedures and policies whilst
maximising the efficiency of the shift
- Demonstrate a pro-active attitude to making continuous improvements in quality, safety and
hygiene whilst maximising output
- Ensure machinery and equipment is ready for use at the start of the shift, and in appropriate
condition for future shifts
- Drive effective communication throughout the department including, but not limited to, cascading
relevant information, collaborating with other departments, and contributing to and delivering team
communications.

- MS Excel
- MS Outlook
- Manual Handling experience
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Food Safety knowledge

Experience in a similar role required.
